르노삼성자동차는 내년 1월 시판 예정인 SM5 후속 모델의 렌더링 이미지를 25일 공개했다.
SM5는 1998년 3월 28일 첫 선을 보인 이후 그동안 1차례 풀 체인지와 3차례의 페이스 리프트를 거쳤으며 이날 공개된 이미지는 3번째 풀체인지된 3세대 모델이다.
SM5는 그동안 일본 닛산자동차의 플랫폼을 사용해 왔다. 좁은 일본 도로를 감안해 개발된 일본 차량의 특성상 길이는 길지만 폭이 좁아 경쟁차종인 쏘나타에 비해 실내가 좁다는 평가를 받아왔다.
그러나 3세대 SM5는 프랑스 르노사의 ‘라구나’를 베이스로 개발해 차체와 실내가 기존 SM5보다 넓어졌다.
도발적인 디자인으로 20대로 고객층을 낮춘 쏘나타와 달리 SM5는 보수적인 기존 디자인을 계승해 30~40대 중산층을 겨냥한 게 특징이다.
QM5와 SM3에 장착돼 연비 개선효과가 검증된 닛산의 무단변속기(CVT)를 장착해 자동변속 차량의 연비가 준중형차 수준인 13㎞/L를 넘는 것으로 알려졌다.
렌더링 이미지라 그런지 모르지만 꽤 기대가 되는 디자인입니다!
1월 18일에 나온다고 합니다. 친환경 내장인테리어와 천연향 방향제 시스템??? 뭐 그런 것들이 추가되고요.
12월엔 아마도 사전예약 들어가겠죠.
차 가격은 200~300정도 뉴임프 모델보다 오를 것으로 예상하고 있더라구요.
