한국이 바둑종주국이라고?

16일 국회의원회관 간담회실에서 ‘바둑종주국화 사업의 성공적 수행을 위한 공청회’라는 것이
열렸습니다.사단법인 대한바둑협회와 조전혁·강승규(이상 한나라당) 의원이 공동주최한 행사였지요. 대한바둑협회 조건호 회장은 “바둑의
세계보급을 통해 국가경쟁력을 강화하고자 하는 취지에서 바둑종주국화 사업을 시작하게 됐다”라고 말했습니다.이날 공청회에서는
‘문화콘텐츠로서의 바둑의 가치(인하대 김영순 교수)’, ‘한국바둑 세계화의 필요성과 추진전략(명지대 최일호 교수)’, ‘바둑의 해외마케팅과
성장가능성(경동대 송석록 교수)’ 등이 발제되었고, 토론자들의 열띤 토론이 이어졌습니다.이 기사가 한국기원 홈페이지와 바둑전문
사이트인 사이버오로에 뜨자 모처럼 네티즌들의 댓글이 쏟아졌는데 문제는 대부분이 부정적인 시각이라는 점이었습니다.

 

바둑계가 모처럼 좋은 일을 하겠다는데 왜 네티즌들이 조소를 보내고 있을까요? 그
이유는 ‘바둑 종주국’이라는 사업타이틀 때문이었습니다.일부 ‘바둑의 한국 기원설’을 주장하는 사람들도 없지 않지만(심지어 티베트
기원설도 있습니다)

‘바둑은 고대 중국에서 유래되어 한국을 거쳐 일본에서 근대바둑의 꽃을 피웠다’라는
것이 다수설로 받아들여지고 있습니다. 그런데 느닷없이 ‘한국바둑의 종주국화 사업’이란 걸 벌이겠다고 하니, 아무리 팔이 안으로 굽는다 해도
‘이건 아니다’라는 것이지요.아이디 법성이라는 분은 “우리가 종주국 하고 싶다고 사업을 벌이면 바둑 종주국이 되는 것이냐”라고
했고, tiger6는 “너무 아전인수격 또는 어거지같은 인상이다. ‘한국바둑의 세계화 사업’과 같이 중국, 일본도 거부감을 느끼지 않을 사업명을
내거는 것이 적절하지 않을까”라는 의견을 냈습니다.

 

“바둑보급하는 데 종주국이 아니면 체면이 안 서나?(lpww)”, “제대로 된 것도
없이 허세만 부린다(쇠몽둥이)”같은 댓글도 있었지요.“한국바둑의 위기를 외치는 상황에서 일본, 중국을 자극시켜 보는 것도 좋은
방법(edgeboy)”, “때로는 무리수를 던져보는 것도 좋다(mindsodam)”와 같은 목소리도 없지는 않았지만, 결국 시각의 차이일 뿐
‘한국 바둑종주국’에 대해 긍정하는 것은 아니었습니다.실제로 이날 논의된 사안들은 한국바둑의 세계화 방안에 대한 것들일 뿐
‘종주국’에 대한 이야기는 오가지 않았습니다. 네티즌들의 지적처럼 ‘종주국화 사업’이라는 이름보다는 ‘한국바둑의 세계화’와 같은 쪽이 무난하고
이해하기도 쉽지 않았을까 싶습니다.대한바둑협회는 이 사업을 위해 정부로부터 수억 원의 예산을 지원받아 추진하고 있는 것으로 알려져
있는데, 지원하는 쪽에서도 이런 점을 미리 감안했더라면 하는 아쉬움이 남습니다.중국 기원설을 부정하더라도 바둑에 관한 한 한중일은
모두 ‘할 말’이 있는 나라들이지요. 한국이 실력으로 바둑최강국의 자리에 올랐다 해도 ‘바둑종주국’을 주장하는 일은 아무래도 오버가 아닌가
싶습니다.

일본이 당장 ‘기무치의 종주국화 사업’이란 걸 들고 나온다면 우리들 입장이 어떨까요.
팔이 밖으로 굽을지언정 안 되는 일은 안 되는 것이겠지요.

    My advice would be to save yourself some money. Just buy yourself some memory foam about 3 or 4 inches thick. And put it on top of your mattress. You should be very happy with the results.
